    The Town of Emmitsburg and surrounding communities are cordially invited to a showing of the Disney/Pixar's movie Up at the Seton Shrine Visitor Center.  This animated comedy adventure will be shown in the Shrine theatre at 1:00 p.m..  All are welcome!  Free popcorn!  Free Movie!

    Meet history at the Francis Scott Key Mall, Frederick, MD from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.  There will be a sampling from 14 historic sites and museums.  Come join us!

  • Easter Novena of Masses

    The Easter Novena of Masses will be held every day in the Basilica at 1:30 from Sunday, April 4 through Monday, April 12 (inclusive).
     


  • Bell & History Days
    April 10, 2010 - April 11, 2010
    Two dozen museums and historic sites participate in the opening of Frederick County's museum season with countywide events.  Event-goers are invited to participate in the Passport to History program.  Those who complete Passports will receive a special souvenir and be eligible for a grand prize drawing.  Informational fliers are available at participating sites. No fee.  All are welcome!


  • Hand Bell Festival
    April 11, 2010
    Nearly 100 ringers from local hand bell choirs perform in concert as part of Bell & History Days in the Basilica at 5 p.m. No fee.  All are welcome!

  • 236th Birthday Event Planned
    August 29, 2010
    The birthday anniversary of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton will be celebrated in the Basilica at the National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, beginning with Mass at 1:30 p.m.  Special honors will be paid to women and girls named Elizabeth Ann or Elizabeth. Following Mass, the birthday party moves into the Courtyard for refreshments, face painting, games, and music.  Free admission.


  • Annual Pilgrimage for the Sea Services
    October 03, 2010
    The public, especially men and women in uniform and their families, are welcome to this 3:00 p.m. Mass in the Basilica honoring those who serve in the Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine. Mass is highlighted by the Presentation of the Colors and the music of the Naval Academy Catholic Midshipmen Choir from Annapolis. Free admission.

    On Saturday, December 11, Frederick County's historic sites open their doors in holiday style.  Start your tour early with us - warm cider and cookies from Noon - 4:30 p.m.
