Getting Started

Start your visit at the National Shrine by checking in at the Visitor Center to view a short video about the legacy of Elizabeth Ann Seton in the orientation theater. Continue on to the museum to gain more background about Mother Seton, her journey to Baltimore and her life in Emmitsburg.

Next, take in all the highlights of the shrine during your visit. To follow Elizabeth Ann Seton's journey through time, you might progress from the Stone House, to the White House, the Old Cemetery and Mortuary Chapel, and then back to the Basilica and the Altar of Relics, the final resting place of her remains.

Include a visit to the Shrine Gift Shop before you leave us or you may review the online catalog when you return home.
